Cooties *blah*

Somehow, even though I've started taking vitamins and increased in antioxidants, I have cought a cold.
Vicious little mongrels they are, colds. You wake up one morning and BAM. "Oh shit. I'm sick." *Ugghh.* Which seriously sucks for me because I just started with the Spring semester, so homework to do and class to attend, plus I have been promising to post a cupcake tutorial on here. I don't know if I'll have the chance to do that this week because I'm sick, but I will most definitely do it whenever I can. Until then, I'll be uploading my artistic photo's onto my art blog. Check it out @ www.crazybeautifulart.blogspot.com and you can also like my page on Facebook, @ www.facebook.com/crazybeautifulaf

Cooking Crafty

Today I made two semi-healthy meals at once. For breakfast, I made an egg white & veggie breakfast burrito. Onions, potatos, bell peppers, and egg whites compose it. Add salt, pepper, and low fat cheese, stuff it in a tortilla and you have a super delicious breakfast. Then, take the leftover sauteed onions and peppers, cook some rice and stir it in for a quick delicious lunch!

BURRITO MAGIC!!

These ingredients were enough for three burritos and one bowl of rice. If you're a major carnivore (RAWRR) just add some ground turkey or pork sausage. For more of it, use the whole pepper and onion, add more egg whites.
  • 1 potato, peeled and diced. I prefer golden potatos.. but whatever.
  • Half of a yellow onion, diced.
  • Half of a bell pepper, diced.
  • 4 egg whites
  • Tortillas
  • Olive oil (for sauteing)
  • Salt & peppa
Heat skillet, pour a little bit of olive oil in the pan, enough to let the vegetables cook but not enough to cover them. Add diced onions and peppers, saute until soft and golden.

Remove from skillet and save for later. Add potatos to skillet and cook until cooked through.

Once potatos are cooked all the way, add about half of the pepper/onion combination to the skillet with the taters, stir around, and add egg whites. Salt and pepper them and scramble. Reserve the extra sauted peppers and onions for yum yum rice lunch :D

Once egg white scramble is cooked completely, heat some tortillas up in the microwave, or on a dry skillet. Put some shredded cheese on the warm tortillas, lay some especially delicious egg white veggie scramble on top and roll into a burrito!

Mmmmmm *drool*
Almost asleep..
Just thought of something: king cake cupcakes.
It's gonna happen.

Mmmmmmm Egg Whites...

You know what they say: "New year, new you", and lately I've been on a health kick trying to lose weight. I want to feel better about myself and be healthier for my future. Unfortunately, I have a serious addiction to SUGAR and COFFEE! If you know me, you know I love food.. all types of food, especially the sweet stuff. It doesn't help that I'm pretty good at making it. But I'm proud of myself right now, because for dinner I made myself an egg white english muffin.

What I used:
  • One english muffin
  • One slice Provolone cheese
  • One egg white (crack the egg and seperate the yolk with your fingers like a colander.)
  • Lite Mayo or Miracle Whip
  • Sliced turkey or ham
  • Salt & Pepper for the egg whites
What I did:
  •  Split the muffin in half, toast it.
  • Once muffin is toasty and warm, put the cheese and turkey on bottom piece.
  • Microwave bottom piece until cheese is kinda melty and turkey is warm.
  • Spread lite mayo on top piece.
  • Cook the egg white in a pan, sprinkle salt & pepper on it.
  • Once egg white is cooked, put it on top of the cheesy turkey goodness.
  • Place the mayo'd top on and chow down :D

It's not as delicious as the McGriddle.. but I can promise it's tasty and a lot better for you!

Starving Artist..

I am an art student at the University of South Alabama. The Spring semester started yesterday, and this semester I'm taking photography and ceramics classes. My primary concentration is photography, but I dabble in ceramics and other various types of art forms as well. Basicaly, I like to try all different types of art, and I have a hard time making up my mind!
But there are a few things I know for sure:
1. Photography is beautiful & anything is possible.

2. It felt wonderful to have clay in my hands again this morning.
3. Freshly made doughnuts are synonymous with little puffs of heavenly clouds.

That being said, I'd like to share my photography and art with you all. I'll be posting soon :)

And so begins the journey of... MY BLOG!

I've been thinking about doing a blog for a while, but in my mind "life" has not been interesting enough to write about. Plus, I'm not a journalist... my writing skills are minimum. But I want to share my life with people, especially the creative side :) sooooooooooo I have created this masterpiece (in progress.) Mostly I want to blog about food, I like to bake and I've been doing it since I was a little girl. My favorite think to make is cupcakes because you can turn almost anything into a cupcake, but I make other things too: breads, candies, cakes, food. I make AMAZING breakfast food. I'll be updating this blog with recipes and pictures of my delectable delights.

On a lighter note, (literally) I have just started a diet. In November I decided to cut my sugar intake and started drinking only water, juice, coffee, and milk. Since then I've lost around 15lbs. About to weeks ago I started working out. I'm
afraid to check my weight on the scale in case I get horrendous results! Either way, I'll probably start updating results on here; food I eat, calories burned, supplements, etc. So that my viewers can see what I've done if I make any progress.

Feel free to comment and request something :)
